March 8th we may possibly holding a ski clinic for the parents. Parents, please let the coaches know if you would be interested in participating via email before March 7th.

Congratulations to Kari, Michael and Alyce for their invitation to the J4-5 Derby to be held at Blue Mountain on March 1 & 2. The team wishes them the best of luck. 
The J3 Derby attendees made a proud showing with Jorden Doubledee making the State Team. Good Luck to her in the post season event when she goes north. Go Get'um!

Saturdays race went well. The racers that attended made a fine showing for some tough conditions with the wind and "firm surface". Congratulations to Brian Shultz, Ryan wertz and Jorden Doubledee on making the J3 Invitational Derby. Good Luck to all at the derby.

This past weekend all of us had the opportunity to ski on a great "firm" surface. What a fantastic experience it was. The upcoming clinic will help everyone greatly. The tuning clinic and get together that will be held so that everyone can get to know each other better will be held on Saturday starting at 3:30. The tuning clinic will be held so as the young racers and parents will be able to maintain their own equipment on a regular basis. Afterwords we will enjoy a potluck dinner. Please feel free to bring something to add to the dinner. Any questions please contact us. Hamburgers and Hotdogs will be provided.
 
Saturday practice will be split into 3 groups differently than ever before.

Group A:( Greta, Anna G., Kai, Alex )
Group B:( Katherin, Annie, Aurthur, Sharka)
 
Group A will attend practice on Route 66 and/or Mambo from 9:30-10:30 and 12:30-1:30, while group B will be free to run gates or free ski during those times. From 10:30-11:30 and 1:30-2:30
group A will be free to run gates or free ski, with group B training on Route 66 or Mambo during those times. If your name is not mentioned in group A or B, you will be training on Deer Run. This is Group C. Happy Hiking!

A after training tuning clinic will be held on February 9th at the Keller's Mt. home immediately following. It would be great to have everyone attend, new and old members alike so that we may get to know each other better. Eats and beverages will be available. The tuning clinic will help teach the young racer and parents what to do to keep the skis running fast.
 
Once again, if you have not turned in your 50/50 raffle tickets, please do so before Saturday at noon.

We are holding our fundraising raffle on Saturday Feburary 2nd. Please make sure that you have the ticket money turned in before that date. If you already have the ticket money, you may turn it in before. Once again please make sure that you are able to turn it in before Feb. 2. We are looking forward to having this drawing in the lodge and having a little fun.

Congratulations to everyone that participated at the race on Sunday especially for the racers that competed in their first slalom. Also congrats to Alyce on her great finish.
 
For everyone that will be competing this Sunday at Wisp, we will be meeting after practice on Saturday to give you a better idea of where we will be meeting Sunday morning and what to expect.

We will begin training at 8:45am Saturday on Expressway for slalom. We are starting early due to the expected heavy volume of skiers this weekend. This training session is open to the racers that are going to the race on Sunday. Racers that are not going to the race are sheduled to train at the regular scheduled time of 9:30-11:30 AM and 12:30-2:30 pm.

Christmas Camp training days are as follows:
Dec. 22 & 23, 24 (morning), 26-28, 30. Jan 1. We will not train the Dec. 29 & 31. Dates and hours are subject to change.

Thanksgiving has come and gone and we hope everyone enjoyed it. Please make sure your USSA and PARA memberships are up to date. Our first day of training will soon be announced. The Vector Securities GS Race, originally scheduled for December 30, 2006, has been rescheduled for Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Seven Springs. The race has now been opened to all J1-J6 racers. The race was originally open only to J1-J3 racers. It is not yet clear if this is considered to be a regional qualifier for all classes. Look here for more info.

Please plan to be ready to load the lift at Seven Springs at around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The course will be open for inspection by 9:00 a.m. Please have your bib and lift ticket.

Blue Knob has reopened and we are planning to hold regular practices beginning at 9:00 a.m. Please meet in the main lodge.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Ohiopyle Prints Slalom, originally scheduled for January 7th, has been rescheduled for January 21st at Seven Springs. This means that there are back to back races on the weekend of January 20th and 21st at Seven Springs.

Training is underway for the 2006-7 season. We are planning to train this weekend, January 7th & 8th beginning at 9 a.m. at Blue Knob regardless of whether or not the mountain is open for skiing. New prospective members are welcome to join a training session. Please look for us in the lodge at 8:45 a.m.

The Ohiopyle Prints Slalom that was scheduled for Sunday, January 8th, has been postponed.
